Job Description
Full Time Employee will be an integral part of a team that conducts military innovation and experimentation, collecting data that informs the writing of new doctrine, tactics, techniques and procedures and accelerates the delivery of warfighting capability and capacity to the Combatant Commands. Employee will provide engineering expertise including acoustic intelligence. Employee will be a contributing author of multiple documents. Employee will prepare flag officer and senior executive service (SES) correspondence and presentations. Employee will produce and update planning spreadsheets for multiple experiments and operational demonstrations through all aspects of experiment design and execution. Provide technical writing services for multiple government customers. Employee will coordinate and collaborate with the staffs of multiple Warfighting Development Centers, primarily Undersea Warfighting Development Center (UWDC). Employee will operate in both unclassified and classified computer networks. Coordinate with Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the Intelligence Community (IC) and FFRDC’s, and service field activities to identify maturing capabilities for transition. Design data collection events to collect data to inform Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) for Navy Warfighting Development Centers (WDC’s). Travel 30%.
Key Responsibilities
Provide subject matter expertise in undersea command, control and communication, undersea operations, submarine operations, and Naval Special Warfare Operations. Prepare and plan large military experiments and demonstrations including creating and writing operational security plans, transition plans, test plans, manning plans, and post-event reports. Employee will contribute to multiple documents. Preparing Flag Officer, General Officer, and senior executive service (SES) correspondence and presentations. Drafting Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), Concepts of Employment (CONEMPs), tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPS), and other doctrinal publications. Write white papers describing new warfighting capabilities. Lead teleconferences, planning meetings, technical exchange meetings as part of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) and experiment and operational demonstration planning process.
Required Qualifications
Must be a U.S. citizen
10 or more years of Naval and operations experience
Experience in submarines
Applicants with a master’s degree are preferred
